Tried a New JJ Class

I got the chance to go out to the Brazil Academy the other day and try out their BJJ class.  It was awesome.  I really enjoyed the atmosphere.  We got to work on some basics armbar drills and some mount escapes.  We did an escape from mount that I had never done before, so that part was really cool.  I only rolled two rounds at the end of class, even though they did 3 rounds.  I was so tired from doing Judo and X-Camp at the studio already.

I worked with a woman who is also a blue belt and seemed to be about the same weight as me.  Then I rolled one round with her and one round with Ninja.  Ninja's transitions were awesome.  I really enjoyed rolling with him and I think if I go up there more often I will probably learn a lot.

The class is lead by two purple belts.  Ninja, the main instructor, is also a Contra Mestre in Capoeira.  I have known him through events and other capoeira events for many years.  Overall, I was very excited about the class.  I think when I start working, not till September :-(, I will probably go to class there about twice a week.

We did Judo and X-camp before I went to the Brazil Academy.  Judo was pretty good.  We did the step in warm-up, which I really like.  Then we worked on an Osoto set up.  We finished off the class with a refresher and update on how to do straight ankle locks straight from the guard.

X-Camp was freakin crazy.  My ass still hurts and that class was two days ago.  I think it's getting worse by the day.  Anyway, we did 3 min rounds of drills.  We did bear crawl around the perimeter of the kickboxing area, then flying bananas, advancing burpees, walking lunges, mountain climbers, reverse pushups, hops on one leg then the other while holding the non-hoping leg up at 90 degrees.  We did a ton of push ups and sit ups too but I can't remember it all.  It was crazy though.
